Educators at Earth Institute’s Center for Sustainable Development and geochemists at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University in New York City collaborated on a citizen-science project in Alirajpur, India, to locate wells with safe drinking water. The resulting map, with more than 1,000 data points, helps governmental departments make water quality decisions and therefore brings the community closer to achieving SDG 6: Ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.6
